Dene worked in close protection and as a celebrity bodyguard for 20 years, looking after many business people, celebrities and their families.

MEMORABLE MOMENTS

Dene's first high-profile bodyguarding job was with Russell Crowe and his son when they filmed 'A Good Year'.

After that he looked after Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, living with them at their chateau in the South of France when their twins were born.

Dene was bodyguard to Brad at premieres including Fury and Inglourious Basterds and to the couple at the height of 'Brangelina mania' on the red carpet for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Following their split, Dene continued to look after Angelina and her children, accompanying them on film sets, red carpets, and family holidays across the world.

Over the years, Dene worked for both Russell and Angelina, looking after Russell on film sets such as Robin Hood, the Water Diviner, Superman and Noah - as well as at their premieres.

He went on the 20th anniversary tour of Gladiator in Rome with Russell, where they were lucky enough to get a behind-the-scenes tour of the Colosseum and even stand in the exact spot where Caesar used to sit!

While close protection work can sometimes be dull, involving a lot of planning, waiting, and observing, there were plenty of unforgettable moments too—like arriving at Cannes Film Festival by speedboat, sharing a private jet with Henry Cavill, and sitting down to dinner with Russell Crowe, Tom Jones, David Walliams, Natalie Imbruglia, Tracey Emin, and Eva Herzigová - what a conversation that must have been!

Dene retired from bodyguarding in 2019 to set up Streetwise Defence and his last job was a 3 month stint with Angelina and her children - including filming for Eternals in the UK and Fuerteventura and the London and Tokyo premieres for Maleficent 2.
